Mwangaza Energy International
About Mwangaza
Mwangaza Energy International is a grid-led renewable infrastructure development platform focused on creating investment-ready utility-scale solar and battery storage assets in South Africa.
The current portfolio is 1,2 GW of solar PV and 1,05 GWh of battery storage, concentrated in Limpopo Province across three substations, each structured as its own SPV.
The longer-term target is 3 GW.
Beyond Mwangaza, the founding team has direct operational experience managing more than 2,500 MW of generation assets across African power markets, under DFI governance frameworks.
01
Community Equity
Each project SPV includes a dedicated Community Trust.
Communities where we build have a formal seat in project governance and receive returns directly.
02
Long-term Presence
Land agreements, traditional authority relationships, and community structures are in place before a project breaks ground and stay in place for the asset’s full life. We’re not here to build and leave.
03
Economic Empowerment
Mwangaza is a Level 1 B-BBEE verified company.
Ownership and economic participation sit inside every project SPV, from the first day of development.
